HELLO GENTLE READERS,
I haven’t written anything in a few days and I’ve missed you! Thanks for continuing to read my older entrys!
I’m not the most thrifty of people. I’ve made good money and spent a lot of it (divorces aren’t cheap, you know). But, I’m a miser when compared to our Government!
What is a billion?
- A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
- A billion minutes ago Jesus walked the earth.
- A billion hours ago we lived in caves.
- A billion days ago people didn’t exist.
Wow! A big number, indeed! Our Government creates debt at the rate of about a billion dollars per every 8 hours or so! Louisana Senator, Mary Landrieu, is asking Congress for 250 billion dollars to rebuild New Orleans (one of my favorite cities)! A worthy cause to be sure but, wow, 250 billion dollars? That’s over $500,000.00 for every man, woman and child in N.O. That’s a lotta’ crawfish and gumbo, folks!
Well, that’s all I have time to write. I’m busy packing for Louisana!
