Yesterday LaVerna and I made the two-hour trip from Nettie, WV to Charleston, WV. Well, actually we went to a little town named Tornado. Our purpose was to pick up a new horse, an Andalusian-Arab mix named Tessa. The drive to Charleston is mostly four-lane, but I swear, it’s uphill both ways. Back in the day of the horse, this trip would’ve taken three or four days. Tessa trailered quite well, but wasn’t a big fan of the truck stop where we gassed-up. Smart horse!

An odd fact occurred to LaVerna on the way back. We were pulling the horse and trailer with our Yukon which has 380 horsepower. We were hauling exactly one horsepower. Ain’t technology great?
